FamilyWagon Posted May 25, 2006 Report Posted May 25, 2006 I would like the ability to check for error codes on my 2003 Galaxy 2.3 16v DOHC Ghia. What equipment do I need? Where can I get it from? How much does it cost? Many thanks. Quote
dave_m Posted May 25, 2006 Report Posted May 25, 2006 VAG-COM Ross-tech.com (for genuine lead) (cheaper on ebay but not genuine and do not activate software) costs about Quote
FamilyWagon Posted May 26, 2006 Author Report Posted May 26, 2006 Thanks for the reply dave_m. Please correct me if I am wrong but I thought that the VAG-COM would not fully communicate with a Ford Galaxy but would with a VW Sharan. As I have a Galaxy, I want to ensure that it will work before I spend. Many thanks, Quote
El Dingo Posted May 26, 2006 Report Posted May 26, 2006 Yes, you are right. I have (fully licenced) VAG-COM and it doesn't communicate with the whole car. I connected to my Galaxy, did a scan, and got the following back (pic attached). So, it seems to happily connect to the VW bits at least. Quote
sanjsanj Posted May 28, 2006 Report Posted May 28, 2006 what do you need to talk to the whole car then?because i've read that to check the aux heater you need to search for address 18 and its not listed in the picture above... Quote
